GeoSamba continuously tracks the quality and reliability of external map services, or third-party information feeds coming into the system to maintain availability and consistent data integrity.
All service failures, timeouts, successes and response times are logged and can be accessed through the database or administration interface. All user session information is also stored, so activities and system responses, ranging from errors, system warnings, user activity audit, system activity trace and system activity timing, can be reviewed. Real time system monitoring is inbuilt allowing GeoSamba alert administrators to breaches of managed web-services service level agreements.
GeoSamba also offers a comprehensive and flexible security architecture which functions in isolation or is readily adaptable to Active Directory or Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) environments. Using this architecture, the Gateway Tier Web Services can be used to secure otherwise unsecured data sources. Configured with Secure Socket Layers (SSL), GeoSamba security complies with stringent corporate standards for security and governance.
Administrators construct projects and tasks within the Business Logic Tier using the GeoSamba Browser Administration Client. GeoSamba also offers a flexible security architecture which functions standalone or is readily adaptable to Active Directory or LDAP environments.
Web service gateways are used to connect each data source, acting as translators, security checks and monitoring agents for information flowing between the application’s separate data and business logic tiers.
GeoSamba application server and map gateways allow four levels of logging. All logged items are tracked by session, user, project and map services which allows administrators to:
- Monitor user activity and control active user sessions.
- Generate detailed user activity reports suitable for data and function usage billing purposes.
- Generate detailed data service consumption and performance reports suitable for Service Level Agreement assessment.
- Enable linkages to enterprise monitoring solutions (i.e. Unicentre by CA, SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence Studio).
Since most of complex work is completed by the GeoSamba server all that is required at the user end is thin clients. As such the GeoSamba Smart client and GeoSamba Browser client without plug-ins are ideal for use in strictly controlled IT environments. If only the GeoSamba Browser client is used then there is no software which needs to be installed on the users computer.
Iintegrate systems, maintains a pool of consultants experienced in business analysis, interface engineering, helpdesk support, and data capture and conversion. Service agreements can be tailored to meet organizational requirements to provide more than an out-of-the-box solution.
